One of the most adopted ways of debt reduction is balance transfer. A lot of people, however, also use balance transfers as a mechanism to continue their journey into the debt trap. Here we are going to talk about the scenario where you are actually using balance transfers as debt reduction mechanisms.
Newspapers, magazines and television are all full of advertisements on balance transfers. Almost all credit card companies offer balance transfer propositions especially to attract new customers. So what steps should one follow in selecting a credit card to transfer current balances to? Here is a list of steps which will prove helpful to you:
1.
Collect all the information about balances that you currently hold on different cards and the APRs applicable for each.
2. Prepare a matrix and ranking of what debt you want to transfer to the new credit card. This will generally be based on the balance on each credit card and the APR.
3. Collect the information about the various offers available in the market including the eligibility or qualification for each offer and the applicable APR, terms of low rates, fees etc. You might want to limit yourself to the leading credit card companies.
4.
Eliminate the offers on the basis of your eligibility for the offers.
5. From the remaining offers, prepare a matrix of important information and key features. You can include only those things which are of most importance to you. These will include things like:
1. APR
2.
The application fees
3. The period for which the low APR is available
4. The process followed for APR calculation on future payments
5. The long term APR
6. Annual charges
7.
Any additional charges
8. Any riders on the service in terms of minimum requirements
9. Modes of payment acceptable
10. If any of them have tie-ups with an airlines/car-rentals/hotel etc which is of your interest.
6. Evaluate the matrix on the basis of the collected information and apply for the card most suited to you
Besides balance transfer on your current credit cards, you can also transfer your other high interest debts e.g.
car loans or other loans. This is done by means of the credit card company issuing balance transfer checks. Sometimes these checks carry an issuance fee and it's prudent to check this beforehand. All such fees and other charges can easily turn the best looking option to worst. Always read the fine print especially the clauses related to fee structures etc.
Some credit card companies present information in a way that looks very lucrative in the first instance. However, when you read the minor details, you find that it's the worst offer of all. Just beware of all the sales tricks when hunting for the ideal credit card.
In order for balance transfer to work in your favor, it's essential that you not only develop a good strategy for your debt reduction but also follow it religiously, evaluate it from time to time and revise it if necessary. Once you have done the balance transfer, ensure that you follow good credit card habits and obtain a good credit rating. .
How I wrote an e-book and started earning $6,000/mo.
I have the perfect job. I don't work at all, at least according to my friends. When I do work, I work at home. I get paid every day. And I get paid more than just about anyone I know.
I write and sell e-books on the Internet. I'm writing this little article to inspire people that are looking for the same things I was looking for just a couple of years ago: financial independence, a work-at-home option, some prestige, and oh yeah, that little thing we need called a creative outlet. When I go to parties and tell people that I write and sell e-books they almost always say "what's that"? But that's OK, that's just part of being an "e-book publisher". My story started out in 1996, when I was a Microsoft Certified Trainer and Network Engineer, flying around the world in a "monkey suit". I dreamed of a way that I could sell some study guides to some of the guys I was training and other people on the Internet, and so I wrote six documents in Microsoft Word that I began to sell at $24...

Houston Community College Increases Job Placement
Job placement for certified Network Cabling Specialists from Houston Community College's C-Tech programs were at approximately 50-60% in mid-2001.
This was not acceptable to HCC's Max Saravia, Department Chair of Industrial Electronics, who used DOL/Texas Workforce Commission grants to hire Anna Fowler to improve the rate of job placement for C-Tech programs that produced approximately 200 certified technicians in the past year.
Anna set herself a goal of 85% by June, the end of the academic year. She reached that goal, and more, by the end of May.
How did she do it?
"A lot of hard work!" she says.
She began by calling employers.
In addition to inquiring about job availability, she invited potential employers to visit the HCC Network Cabling Specialist program two weeks before graduation, and some 20-30 employers have done so.
"Once they come," says Anna, "they come back."She also worked hard to establish trust and a connection...
Setting Up an Ebook Affiliate Program
When you begin marketing your ebook on the Internet, you
can dramatically increase your sales with an affiliate program. An affiliate program will enable you to recruit an entire sales force to market your ebook for you. The great thing about having an affiliate program is that your affiliates work for you on a commission basis. They are paid a specified percentage for each sale they make. If they don't make any sales, they won't get paid.
The key to obtaining affiliates is to offer a nice commission for
each sale. The higher the commissions, the more affiliates
you'll recruit.
There are thousands of affiliate programs on the Internet. In
order to be successful, you must sell your affiliate program
just like your product. In other words, your affiliate letter
should be written like a sales letter.
You must persuade your
visitors to join your affiliate program by packing your affiliate
sales...
More Banking Troubles; "Black Friday" Busiest Shopping Day Without Credit and Debit Cards
Irvine, CA (ContentDesk) November 2, 2005 -- What would happen if on November 25th, consumers across America chose just cash and checks to shop? As consumers use cash rather than credit and debit cards on this important post-Thanksgiving shopping day, known as Black Friday, it will signal their disapproval with the banks $25 billion dollar annual hidden tax. The Credit Card Interchange Report: WayTooHigh.com is evaluating a proposal by consumers to launch this national campaign on November 25th to draw attention to the bank-owned credit card associations' interchange fees. The goal is to educate not impair commerce. Another immediate benefit is that by using cash, it will help shoppers better budget their spending."A Day Without Credit Cards -- A Day With Cash" was suggested by consumers and is independent from the co-editors of WayTooHigh.com, who are also lead plaintiffs in the credit card interchange litigation. The genesis for this consumer initiative began at Irvine, CA-based 30...

Jewish Seeking Religious Information? www.Christian-Jewish.com New Web Site Launched To Provide Biblical Facts Regarding Messianic Judaism.
Jewish Seeking Religious Information? Looking for Biblical facts? Biblical Judaism is Messianic Judaism. Messianic Jews identify with Jewish customs and traditions while believing that Yeshua, (the Hebrew name for Jesus), is the promised Messiah of the Hebrew Scriptures. God saves us by grace through faith not law.Being Christian-Jewish is not simply if you're intermarried or the child of an intermarriage. Christian Jews or Messianic Jews are Jewish people who after researching the Biblical facts learned that Jesus is indeed the Jewish Messiah. The name Jesus in Hebrew is Yeshua.
Messianic Judaism is called Biblical Judaism and is the Judaism of the entire Bible and only the Bible.
This differs from Rabbinic Judaism, (whether it is Orthodox, Conservative or Reform), which is centered around the teachings of the rabbis. "You shall not add to the word which I am commanding you, nor take away from it" (Deuteronomy 4:2). When a Jewish person accepts Yeshua the Messiah, that...
My Online Background Check Experiment
Ever wanted to know a little more about yourself than you already do? I did so I put my name in a search engine and started an online background check
of my past. It didn't take long before I was navigating through websites and I found out where and when I was born, where I had gone to school (did that seem like an age ago!) and surprisingly some of my previous employment history.
I also found out that I had no criminal background worth mentioning (always good to know) and that my credit rating was ok. I found this quite satisfying and decided that online background searching was not only fun, but it could also be very rewarding!
Now that I'd a little background checking under my belt it occurred to me that it might be fun if I did some online background checks on my friends.
So, I chose a few good friends and wanted to discover the following in my online search...
Their...
